Back in December 2023, Oculeap teamed up with a bustling entertainment complex in Mexico City to introduce the VR Cyclone – our single-seat, 360-degree rotating VR jet fighter simulator – to the local market. The project kicked off with a thorough site assessment, where our engineering team mapped out the optimal placement to maximize foot traffic and visibility. We handled every aspect of the installation, from anchoring the 460-kilogram unit to configuring the optional coin and card reader systems for hassle-free pay-per-play operations. Before the soft launch, we conducted extensive staff training sessions, covering everything from daily maintenance to emergency stop procedures, ensuring the local team felt fully confident operating the equipment.
The grand opening in late December 2023 was met with immediate enthusiasm – the VR Cyclone’s jetplane aesthetics and immersive 360° gameplay quickly caught the attention of thrill-seeking teenagers and young adults. Within weeks, the machine became a standout attraction, consistently drawing queues during peak hours. Leveraging Oculeap’s remote performance monitoring tools, the owner fine-tuned game rotations and promotional strategies, turning the single unit into a reliable revenue stream. By early 2024, the Mexico client was already exploring additional units to expand their VR zone, proving that Oculeap’s end-to-end support – from initial design through to profitable operations – delivers real, lasting value in the competitive entertainment landscape.
With the VR Cyclone crushing expectations, the Mexico client didn’t hesitate to greenlight the next move – now scoping the VR Cinemax and Monster Jeep to level up their attraction lineup. A win-win partnership, built on performance and trust. More to come.
